Toys for Tots fundraiser at The Inn Friday

Angel Mowery has been volunteering with Toys for Tots since 2008, when the program came to Rowan County.
Now a senior at West Rowan High School, Mowery has organized a fundraiser — or a toy-raiser — this Friday at The Inn on Mooresville Highway. The event starts at 8 p.m.
“This year we are kind of low on toys,” Mowery says. “I wanted to do something creative that would raise a lot of toys and get teenagers into charities. A lot of teenagers, she says, just don’t want to get involved.
Bands that have volunteered to play at the event include Mutiny Aboard the Queen Marie and Yesterday in Ruins.
