Larry Summey has been pastor of Franklin Presbyterian Church for 20 years.
And for several of those years, he and wife Marianne have made a Christmas Happiness donation in honor of the members of Franklin Presbyterian.
It’s a way to say “Merry Christmas” to the church’s members “and help some people in the community as well,” Marianne said Tuesday.
“We have felt that was a more positive use of our funds than mailing individual Christmas cards.”
Christmas Happiness funds go to the Rowan County Department of Social Services to buy Christmas gifts for children in qualifying families.
