SALISBURY — A woman was arrested on Tuesday after police said she used a credit card from a pocketbook stolen from the hospital room of a 77-year-old surgery patient.
Salisbury Police charged Rita Patricia Coleman, 55, 321 Harrel St., with felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
Officers said they believe the woman took a purse from a hospital room at Rowan Regional Medical Center in June and has used the woman’s credit card in the ensuing months.
An arrest report said Coleman used the card at large stores, including Walmart and Kmart.
Warrants for Coleman were issued in September.
She was found and arrested at her home about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Coleman was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
