SALISBURY ó Celebrate the holidays Friday night when the city of Salisbury hosts an official tree lighting ceremony at City Park Lake.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. and last for about 30 minutes. Participants can enjoy singing holiday carols and warming up with hot chocolate and cookies.
The Salisbury Christmas tree stands on the island in the middle of a three-acre lake at City Park, a 41-acre facility featuring a recreation center, two play structures, a climbing wall, six tennis courts, two picnic shelters with tables and grills.
