SPENCER — The town of Spencer will ring in the holidays with the annual Christmas in the Park event Friday night.
Starting at 6 p.m. in Library Park on Fourth Street, the Spencer Hometown Holidays Committee will host festivities including the Central United Methodist Church Circus Train, North Hills Christian School’s Black Light Ministry and the town’s official tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.
More than 500 luminaries will light the park, creating an opportunity to dine by candlelight with a picnic supper. Family entertainment will include Adam Broyles, Hey You the Clown, North Rowan Show Choir and Steppin’ Out Dance Company.
The Spencer Eastern Star will provide free hot chocolate and coffee during the tree lighting.
Santa is expected to make a special appearance.
