Pair charged with stealing guns, electronics

RICHFIELD — A Kannapolis man and a China Grove woman were charged with stealing guns and electronics from a Richfield home.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Jonathan Wayne Nix, 23, of 210 Key West Ave., with five counts possession of a firearm by a felon, five counts possession of stolen firearm, felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods and larceny of a firearm.
Stephanie Ann Sprinkle, 21, of 1722 N. Main St., was charged with felony breaking and entering, three counts possession stolen firearm and felony possession of stolen goods.
Gary Leach of Richfield reported items taken from his Stanly County home. The incident occurred Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
According to arrest warrants, stolen were two .22 Caliber chrome muzzleloader firearms, a 12-gauge Winchester pump shotgun and two Harrington & Richardson 20-gauge shotguns.
Also taken were a laptop, Wii game system, an iPod Touch, as well as a youth bow and arrow set.
Nix was previously convicted in April 2009 for felony obtaining property by false pretenses. That incident occurred in March 2009. Nix pleaded guilty and received 18 months of supervised probation.
Both remain in the Rowan County Detention Center, Nix under a $150,000 secured bond and Sprinkle under a $27,500 bond.
