The Salisbury High School Key Club is sponsoring a 5K Walk/Run fundraiser for Vanessa Allred, who suffers from sarcoma, a bone cancer.
Allred and her husband, Shane, have two small children. Her insurance company recently cut off her coverage. Allredís nieces, Kat and Ashlyn Heidt, attend Salisbury High.
All proceeds will go to cover Allredís medical expenses.
The 5K will be at the Dan Nicholas Park cross country trail, with tables set up along the way with water.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., with a minimum pledge of $5. The race starts at 10 a.m. After the run, food will be available, along with entertainment by Your Last Obsession, consisting of Lucas Comadoll, Paul Dandison, Sam Holladay and Victor Faries.
An account has been set up at SunTrust Bank for Allred; donation checks should be made out to Vanessa Allred.
