Armed man robs store

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed the Rushco convenience store at 1901 W. Innes St. this afternoon.
Shortly past 4 p.m., police said, the man got in line as if he intended to buy something. The clerk rang up the purchase and the man handed her money. When the clerk reached out to take the money, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded all the cash in the register, police said.
The man then the store, at the corner of Innes and Statesville Boulevard, on foot, but his direction wasn’t known.
The man is described as a black man with a thin build in his late 50s wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The store has surveillance cameras.
