Emotions ran high Tuesday when a fight between two brothers landed both in jail.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies arrived at 835 Sides Road after a caller told authorities that Stanley and Pierce Peeler were fighting in the front yard with a baseball bat over a broken laptop.
Deputies reported that the brothers were still arguing at the home when they arrived.
Officers asked Stanley Peeler to stand in front of the patrol car while he spoke with Pierce Peeler about the incident, but Stanley “continued to cuss at his brother and refused to calm down after being asked repeatedly.”
Stanley, 22, then began walking away from the home and was quickly taken into custody.
As officers spoke to the their father, 20-year-old Pierce began interrupting and cursing, the report said.
After being asked to calm down, the deputy also arrested Pierce.
The Peelers were each charged with resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.
They were both released after each posting a $1,000 bond.
