Teen Book Group
The Kannapolis Branch of the Public Library Teen Book Group will be discussing ěAl Capone Does My Shirtsî by Gennifer Choldenko on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 4:30 p.m.
The Teen Book Group meets on the last Tuesday of the month and is open to readers ages 11-17. ěAl Capone Does My Shirtsî is on the middle school Battle of the Books list for this school year. About the book: Itís 1935 and 12-year-old Moose Flanaganís dad just got a job as a prison guard at Alcatraz, the prison for the worst criminals. In this funny historical fiction book, Moose and his family have to move to the island. There are perks, though. Those in the prison, including the famous Al Capone, have to do the laundry for everyone living on the island.
