nTime: 7:30 p.m.
nClass: 4A
nPod: Midwest
nSeeds and records: No. 5 Greensboro Dudley (5-5) at No. 4 Davie County (8-3)
nRecords vs. winning teams: Dudley is 1-5. Davie is 2-3.
Common Opponent: Both lost to Page. Dudley fell 21-0 to the Pirates. Davie was smashed 41-7 by Page, but that was on opening night. Davie has improved greatly since then.
nAverages: Dudley averages 18 points a game and allows 19. Davie scores 29 per game and allows 22.
nBest wins: Dudley finished second in the Metro Conference, but its lone victory against a winning team was 20-17 against Southeast Guilford (6-4). Davie beat Thomasville and North Davidson.
nDudley on the road: Dudley is 3-2 and has won its last three.
nDavie at home: Davie is 4-1 and has won its last four in Mocksville. n Series: Dudley leads 3-1. The schools played from 1989-1992 when they were conference foes in the CPC. QB Bubba Coleman engineered a 25-18 win in 1992 for Davieís lone victory in the series.
nLast week: Dudley won 12-6 against Greensboro Grimsley. Davie whipped North Davidson 31-16 to grab a share of the CPC title.
nNext week: The winner is likely headed to No. 1 seed Porter Ridge. Porter Ridge plays Hopewell.
nNotable: Dudleyís schedule has been brutal. Its first four games were against very stout non-conference foes, including Northern Guilford (9-1), Hillside (9-1) and Ragsdale (8-2). Dudleyís most impressive result is probably a 15-14 loss to Hillside, the school that buried Davie in last seasonís 4A title game.
Davieís Adam Smith has thrown for 1,779 yards. … Big-play man Nate Jones has eight TDs. … Jamal Lackey is a beast for Davie defensively.
