Biscuitvillefundraiserto support schools
SALISBURY ó Biscuit lovers will have an extra opportunity to satisfy their craving this evening while they support local schools.
Some Biscuitville restaurants ó including the on Salisbury ó are partnering with PTAs and other school organizations for the second annual Breakfast After Dark fundraising event, from which Biscuitville will donate 10 percent of sales to the organizations.
Breakfast After Dark will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., when Biscuitville restaurants normally are closed.
Customers who visit Biscuitville at 515 Jake Alexander Blvd. W. during the special evening hours can direct the donation for their purchase to the school of their choice by dropping their receipt into a box designated to that school. For drive-through orders, the cashier will add the receipt to the box specified by the customer.
Schools benefited include Granite Quarry Elementary, Rockwell Elementary and China Grove Middle.
All totaled, school organizations in 13 cities and towns served by Biscuitville restaurants are participating in the Breakfast After Dark fundraising event.
North Hills to host flapjack fundraiser
The North Hills Christian School senior class will be hosting a Flapjack Fundraiser Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Applebee’s located at 205 Faith Road in Salisbury. All proceeds raised will go towards their senior trip. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the door or by calling 704-433-5557.
East Spencercandidates meet and greet tonight
East Spencerís candidates for mayor and aldermen will host a Community Meet and Greet tonight at the town of East Spencer Municipal Building. East Spencer citizens are asked to drop by and meet the candidates, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Dog rescue groupto hold a holiday pet photo event
One Dog At A Time Rescue NC, a local, all volunteer dog rescue group, will hold a ěHoliday Pet Photo Event,î Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Uptown Dogs and Cats, 2125 Statesville Blvd. (in front of Salisbury Mall). Photos taken of your pet will be free. Hot cider and cookies will be served. Photos may be picked up on Nov. 11 or 12. This event is sponsored by Canine Caregivers NC Therapy Dogs.
Church sponsorsclothing, foodgiveaway
SALISBURY ó A local church is starting Thanksgiving early with a clothing and food giveaway this weekend.
Fairview Heights Baptist Church, located at 704 Old Concord Road, is co-sponsoring the free giveaway along with Workers of the Vineyard and Fishers of Men Outreach, on Saturday at noon until all items are gone.
Organizers are giving away coats and sweaters as well as wings, potato salad, baked beans, drinks, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Transportation is available and donations are welcomed.
