SALISBURY — A 16-year-old received another charge Wednesday after deputies say he called a woman from a jail phone to threaten her.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, Mason Garrett Disbrow, 380 Falcon Lane, called Talitha Lowman and said “I’m going to break into your car again,” then cursed her.
Deputies said Disbrow broke into several homes and vehicles this summer, stealing pills, firearms and electronics. Lowman, who was one of the victims, immediately called authorities and told them about the call, which was preceeded by an automated Rowan County jail narrative.
After contacting the Rowan County Detention Center staff, jailers identified the caller as Disbrow. The report said the call was made about 3:45 p.m.
Disbrow has remained in jail since Sept. 8 when deputies arrested the teenager after he got home from Jesse C. Carson High School .
Since then, investigators charged Disbrow with 14 felonies and one misdemeanor for break-ins in July near High Rock Lake.
The Post reported on Sept. 12 that Disbrow was accused of breaking into a Fisherman’s Lane home and stealing video games, hydrocodone pills and a .32-caliber rifle. He was later charged with breaking into a Faith home and taking a .32-caliber rifle, as well as a Wii console and video games from a nearby neighbor’s home.
When deputies went to the boy’s home Sept. 7, they reported finding a marijuana cigarette in an ashtray beside the 16-year-old’s bed and the burned remains of a Wii console in a fire pit in the backyard.
Disbrow is also accused of taking oxycontin from a Rainey Road home.
He has been charged with five counts of felony breaking and entering, five counts of felony larceny, three counts of felony larceny of a firearm, felony trafficking heroin or opium derivatives and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
On Friday, he was additionally charged with misdemeanor intimidating or interfering with a state witness.
Disbrow was in jail on Monday under a $6,000 bond.
