The intersection of Flat Rock Road and Mount Moriah Church Road was temporarily shut down Sunday afternoon after two vehicles collided, sending one man to the hospital. The wreck happened at about 1:30 p.m. in front of Landis Elementary School when a gray Dodge Nitro turned left, hitting a blue S-10 pickup. The driver of the pickup, Tracy Hampton, said he wasn’t injured. But his passenger, Dave Thomas, was taken by ambulance to Carolinas Medical Center Northeast. The driver of the SUV, Matthew Price, declined to comment.
