State community college board meets at RCCC

KANNAPOLIS ó Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hosting the State Board of Community Colleges this week.
The board will hold its regular monthly meeting today at the collegeís building located on the N.C. Research Campus in Kannapolis. It holds one meeting a year outside Raleigh.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in room No. 115.
The board will discuss th Career and College Promise program operating procedures.
The program, which provides dual enrollment opportunities for high school students to accelerate completion of college certificates, diplomas and associate degrees, is set to begin in January.
The procedures will set up pathways aligned with the K-12 curriculum and career and college readiness standards adopted by the State Board of Education.
