SALISBURY — A white Saturn slid off the road Wednesday and hit a metal railroad crossing pole, according to Salisbury Police.
The wreck happened around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Henderson Grove Church and Jacob Bost roads.
One passenger was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center to be checked out but did not appear seriously injured, officers on the scene said. No one else in the car was injured.
Both airbags in the car deployed after the collision, and the car had significant damage to the front end.
A train came by shortly after the wreck and came to a halt at the crash site to confirm the safety of the track and those involved.
It was unclear if weather conditions were a factor in the crash.
