Deputies are searching for two suspects who robbed a Long Ferry Road woman at gunpoint at her home Saturday night.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the woman had just returned from work at about 10:30 p.m. and was in her driveway when a man approached her with a handgun, demanding money.
The report said the 57-year-old had bent down to pick up something beside her car, which she had just parked behind her home, when she was pushed to the ground.
She told the man where her pocketbook was after he repeated his demands several times, the report said.
After grabbing the pocketbook from the floorboard of her car, the man was seen running into a nearby field, where the woman noticed a second man with him.
The woman told authorities the robber was a black male about 25 to 30 years old, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3, about 165 to 170 pounds.
The man was wearing a camouflage do-rag and a camouflage bandana, with camouflage pants, black athletic shoes and a white T-shirt. The woman told authorities that the man also had dreadlocks.
The purse was listed as a black leather handbag with a draw string at the top and a bow.
The woman called 911 after the two fled on foot.
Detectives ask that anyone with information contact Detective Lieutenant Chad Moose, 704-216-8687 or Crime Stoppers, 866-639-5245.
