Salisbury firefighters to receive special photo

Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell announced today that local photographer Celeste Ward will present the Salisbury Fire Department a framed photograph on Tuesday at 9 a.m. The presentation will take place at Salisbury Fire Station 1, 514 E. Innes St.
In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Ward will present the department a 16- by 20-inch framed original photograph titled, “Always Ready.” The piece was awarded third place in the photography division of The Carolina Artists Expo earlier this year.
Parnell said, “We are honored to receive this gift from Ms. Ward and appreciate her thoughtful and considerate gesture in support of the Salisbury Fire Department. We are proud to hang “Always Ready” in our station as a reminder of the dedicated support we receive from our Salisbury residents each day.”
The photograph offers an attached certificate of authenticity and an explanation of the piece. Ward lives in Salisbury with her husband and enjoys working with 35 mm and digital format photography.
