SALISBURY — A man who was in Rowan County superior court on Monday on felony charges was arrested in the parking lot while the court was in recess.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Scottie Lee Lewis, who was in court on charges of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and felony eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, was arrested by Deputy Daniel Myers after the officer said he saw him yelling in the parking l ot and using profanity toward his grandmother.
The report said Myers noticed Lewis yelling at two females as he entered the building, but noted that things were seeming to calm down.
But when Myers left the building about one minute later, he said Lewis was waving his arms and cursing again.
At that time, Myers placed the 20-year-old under arrest and walked him across the street to the Magistrate’s Office.
