COPING WITH GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: Begins Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 3:30pm. Pre-registration is not required.
 
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS:  Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 9:00-10:30am.  Free blood pressure readings and consultation for interested older adults.
 
“MEMORY LOSS,  DEMENTIA & ALZHEIMER’S: THE BASICS” SEMINAR: Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10:00am.  Learn about the symptoms and effects of Alzheimer’s; how the disease affects the brain; causes and risk factors; diagnosis; and hope for the future.  The seminar is free and open to any interested older adult and family members.  Pre-registration is requested by calling 704-216-7714.
 
HANDMADE CARD WORKSHOP:  Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 1:00pm.  All supplies will be provided.  Cost is $12 per person payable upon arrival. Instructor is Daphne Houghton. Members should register in advance by calling the Center at 704-216-7714.  
 
ICE CREAM SOCIAL:  Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 3:00pm.  Join us for our annual ice cream buffet as we celebrate Senior Center Month and kick off our fall schedule of activities. Free and open to interested older adults.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASSES:  Mondays 9:30am – 12:30pm meeting  September 12 – November 28; or Wednesdays 1-4pm meeting September 14 – November 30.    $36.00 registration fee to RCCC plus materials. Register beginning Monday, August 29.
 
STAINED GLASS CLASSES:  Two sections (Mondays 2-5pm or Mondays 5:45-8:45pm meeting from September 12 – October  31.  Instructor is Mike Ziegler.  $55.00 instruction fee plus materials.  Members should register by calling the Front Desk at 704-216-7714 beginning Monday, August 29.  Space is limited.  
 
SALISBURY SINGING SENIORS resume rehearsals on Monday, September 12 at 3:00pm in the Hurley Room.  New persons with church choir experience who are 55 years of age or older are welcome to join.  The chorus is directed by Daisy Bost.
 
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOPS:  Monday evenings at 7:00pm with Frank Saunders.  $12 fee per session payable to the instructor.   Pre-registration is not required.
 
MEN’S HEALTH & FITNESS CLUB ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING:  Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 1:00pm.  For men age 55 and older who are interested in learning more about maintaining optimal health and fitness.  There will be door prizes, contests and incentives to participate and “do the right things” for good health. UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING PROJECT:    Thursday, Sept. 15.  Help us to welcome and thank these volunteers for their efforts on our behalf.  
 
OIL PAINTING SEMINAR: Thursday, Sept. 15 at 6:00pm.  A free two-hour demonstration of the “Painting Like the Masters” technique given by Patt Legg for interested older adults.  Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for an eight-week class using this technique.  Pre-registration is requested by calling 704-216-7714.
 
ACTIVITY DIRECTORS CLASS:  For staff working in adult care facilities.  Mondays & Thursdays 6-9pm, Sept. 15 – November 28. $175.00 registration fee payable to RCCC.
