Sheetz opens in Salisbury

SALISBURY — Sheetz is open.
The new gas station opened Thursday on Jake Alexander Boulevard at Old Concord Road to enthusiastic customers.
Many people today said they’d never heard of Sheetz but stopped for the cheap gas. Others who were familiar with the chain said they stop at Sheetz for the clean stores and good customer service.
And the cheap gas.
Sheetz had gas for $3.39 a gallon, more than 10 cents cheaper than gas in Concord, several people said. Made-to-order salads, sandwiches and burritos also were popular as people placed their orders at menu kiosks inside the store, which offers indoor and outdoor dining as well as a car wash.
