A student at Jesse C. Carson High School is in jail today after deputies say he broke into several homes near High Rock Lake.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Mason Garrett Disbrow, of 380 Falcon Lane, was arrested on Thursday and charged with four counts of felony breaking and entering and four counts of felony larceny.
Deputies said Disbrow broke into two homes in July on Fisherman’s Lane, stealing video games, hydrocodone pills and a .32 caliber rifle.
The Salisbury Post reported on July 28 that one of the victims, Judy Twine, had reported her home was broken into and hydrocodone and Ambien medication was taken.
Officers reported that Disbrow broke two glass doors to get into Twine’s residence. Deputies were able to take samples of blood from the hallway.
Disbrow is also being charged with breaking into Mark Burr’s Faith home and taking a .32 caliber rifle.
Investigators also believe Disbrow broke into nearby neighbor John Kluttz’s home around the same time and took a Wii game console, video games and DVDs.
Detectives went to Disbrow’s home on Wednesday, but the he was in school.
When he arrived home, detectives spoke to the boy and searched the home, finding the remains of a burnt Wii console in the fire pit in the backyard. Detectives also found a marijuana cigarette in an ashtray beside Disbrow’s bed. He was charged with simple possession of marijuana.
Disbrow received a $4,000 bond for the four felony charges. He was still in jail this morning.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
