CONCORD — A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of Nancy Reynolds Allen, who was found stabbed to death in her apartment July 3.
Teresa Weaver Sloop, 285 Brunting Lane, is charged with first degree murder.
Sloop was an acquaintance of the victim, who was found at 149 Lake Concord Road. Concord Police officers learned of an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the victim, the exact cause of which is not certain.
Allen’s family had offered a $1,000 reward in hopes of helping to find her killer.
Police found the body of the 57-year-old victim after neighbors reported she had not been seen or heard from in days.
Her car, a white Toyota Corolla, was found later in the parking lot of Carolina Mall. Police said earlier the vehicle may have been parked there as early as June 19.
Sloop was taken to the Cabarrus County Jail.
