SALISBURY — A Livingstone College student ended up being stabbed in the cheek Thursday after trying to break up a fight.
Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Martel Antwon Hargrove, 20, was walking home from class shortly after 6 p.m. when he came across two men fighting at the intersection of Institute and West Horah streets.
Lingle said during the altercation one man pulled a steak knife from his pocket and cut Hargrove’s cheek. He sustained minor injuries.
Hargrove described the man that assaulted him as a 6- foot-3 inch-tall man with light brown skin and long dreadlocks. He was wearing cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.
