The driver of a white Chevrolet pickup in Thursday night’s head-on collision on Goodman Lake Road is in fair condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
According to Jennifer Shepherd, her father-in-law, Charlie Shepherd was the driver of the pickup that collided with a silver Ford Taurus at about 7 p.m. Jennifer Shepherd said the driver of the Taurus crossed the yellow line, hitting the truck.
Charlie Shepherd’s son, Alan Shepherd, was also in the truck, according to Jennifer. She said his wife took him to Rowan Regional Medical Center with a broken arm. The hospital has not responded to requests for a condition report.
Charlie Shepherd and the driver of the Taurus were both reportedly flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Jennifer Shepherd said the men were on their way home Thursday evening. She said they live off Crawford Road about two miles from the accident.
No information about the accident has been released by the Highway Patrol. Trooper D.T. Sloop refused to comment on the scene and has not responded to requests for more information.
