Event to give away school supplies

SALISBURY ó The Juneteenth Committee is hosting a Back to School event later this month to give school supplies.
The event is from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 28 at Kelsey Scott Park, 1920 Wilkesboro Road.
ěSchool supplies will be given away,î said Committee President Sherry Hawthorne.
Hawthorne said there will be light refreshments and the supplies will be given until they are gone.
Students from all area school are welcome to receive items from the event.
The Juneteenth Committee has held similar events in years past.
