Crowell – Poland Engagement

Larry and Betsy Crowell of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellen Susan Crowell, to Stuart Justin Poland of Elm City, N.C.
Ellen is the granddaughter of Mrs. Vanda Crowell and the late Mr. Jim Crowell of Salisbury, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gaither Shaw of Sumter, S.C. A 2004 graduate of West Rowan High School, where she was valedictorian, Ellen graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian from North Carolina State University in 2008, where she was a Park Scholar. She is a doctoral student in audiology at East Carolina University.
Stuart is the son of Brice and Debbie Poland of Elm City and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Poland of Elm City; Mrs. Beatrice Johnson of Goldsboro; the late Mr. George Johnson of Goldsboro; and the late Mrs. Rachel Johnson of Goldsboro. A 2002 graduate of Southern Nash High School and 2009 graduate of NCSU, he is a graphic designer at Teleflex in Durham.
The wedding is Sept. 24 at Fairmont United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
