Tower discussion to air on Access16

SALISBURY ó If you missed the testimony and discussion about the Mount Ulla radio tower last week, you can watch it on Access16 all day today, Wednesday and Thursday.
The 16-hour, 10-minute meeting of the Rowan County Board of Commissioners will air each day at 7:30 a.m., ending just before midnight, repeating three times in total.
The meeting began on Aug. 1 and continued ó with nightly breaks ó on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. Almost all of that time was devoted to a quasi-judicial hearing for a conditional use permit, which county commissioners approved, to allow a 1,200-foot broadcast tower in Mount Ulla.
Greely ěGigî Hilton, president of Davidson County Broadcasting, plans to build the tower on property owned by Richard L. and Dorcas Parker, who joined in his request.
Opposing the request was a citizensí group made up of the Miller Airpark Association, the Mount Ulla Historic Preservation Society, James and Marian Rollans and Betsy and Don Webster.
Access16 is a government access channel on located on Time Warner Cable Salisbury, channel 16.
