SPENCER — Scotty Adcock will take over the top spot at North Rowan Elementary School this fall.
The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education unanimously approved Superintendent Dr. Judy Grissom’s recommendation to appoint Adcock principal during a special meeting Wednesday.
Adcock, who serves as an assistant principal at Shive Elementary, will replace Rick Hampton. Hampton retired at the end of June.
Adcock holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as a master’s from UNCC.
He received the honor of Teacher of the Year in 2004 and 1999 while working at North Rowan Elementary.
