Fugitive from New York arrested
SALISBURY ó The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a man wanted for crimes in New York.
Capt. John Sifford said officers were dispatched to 175 Lois Lane on Wednesday. A deputy knocked on the door and saw a man through the window.
Sifford said a woman answered the door and when police asked her about Dennis Scott Paddock, 42, she initially denied he was there, but she later admitted Paddock was in the home.
Inside, police found Paddock attempting to hide in a back bedroom. Sifford said Paddock had been entered into the National Crime Information Center for third-degree criminal offenses. Paddock now faces felony fugitive from justice charges.
He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
