Salisbury – A car caught on fire on East Innes Street Thursday morning.
Amber Shue, the car’s driver, was on her way to work when she said another driver got her attention and told her the burgundy Mazda CX-7 was on fire.
“[The fire department] used the fire extinguisher, but that didn’t work. They had to pry the hood open,” Shue said.
Amber Shue, the car’s driver, said today was her first day driving the vehicle since getting it back from a Cabarrus County garage.
Shue declined to give the name of the garage.
“I just got the fuel line fixed that ran to the engine,” she said.”
