Salisbury – Two people were cited early Tuesday morning after police say a woman solicited prostitution for gas money.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, William Boger, 31, dropped his girlfriend Christopher May Riddle, 33, off at a Wilco-Hess service station just off exit 71 at Interstate 85.
The report said police responded to calls about the solicitation Tuesday morning. Authorities stopped Boger near the service station.
According to deputies, Boger said the couple spent the week looking for work in Charlotte. He told police they were robbed and their money and credit cards were taken.
Boger told police, according to the report, that Riddle told him to drop her off and she would “get some money.” He said he didn’t know how.
Riddle was later found by deputies under the I-85 overpass at Peeler Road.
According to the report, she told deputies they were low on gas. The report said Riddle told deputies she would get the money “in exchange for a sexual favor.”
Riddle told police she was meeting a “trucker named John,” who was a friend. She told police he had previously given her gas money.
Riddle was cited for loitering with the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Boger was cited for misdemeanor aiding and abetting.
