FAITH — The town of Faith not only has enough candidates to fill all seats on its Board of Aldermen, it also has a couple of spares.
Gay Sanderson filed Friday, Ronald L. Mauzy filed Tuesday and Mike Hibler filed Wednesday, bringing the field to seven candidates. They’re vying for five seats — the entire town board.
Other candidates are incumbents Mayor Keith Deal, Mayor Pro Tem Todd Peeler and aldermen Bill Johnson Jr. and Gary Gardner.
Incumbent Mark Shores did not file for re-election.
Filing for other municipal offices in Rowan County ended Friday at noon. When Faith did not have enough candidates, the Rowan County Board of Elections extended the town’s filing period to noon Wednesday.
