Ricocheting bullet injures man
Emergency personnel and the Rowan County Sheriffís Office responded early Sunday evening to a report of an accidental shooting at 5020 Mount Hope Church Road.
A lieutenant with the Sheriffís Office said a 24-year-old man was accidentally shot by the ricochet of a bullet from a rifle. He was taken to the hospital with a wound that was not life-threatening, the officer said.
He would not release any other details Sunday night.
Bostian Heights Fire Department also responded to the location.
The accidental shooting was called in at 6:53 p.m.
