Filing for municipal elections starts Friday

SALISBURY — Filing for this fall’s municipal elections starts at noon Friday and remains open until noon July 15.
All 10 of Rowan County’s municipalities will elect representatives to their governing bodies. Some will elect entire boards.
Candidates can file at the Rowan County Board of Elections, 130 W. Innes St. in Salisbury.
Here are the seats that will be up for election:
• China Grove, the mayor and two members of the town council;
• Cleveland, the mayor and two town commissioners;
• East Spencer, the mayor and three aldermen;
• Faith, all five aldermen;
• Granite Quarry, three aldermen, one of whom is currently mayor;
• Kannapolis, three council members;
• Landis, the mayor and two aldermen;
• Rockwell, the mayor and all five aldermen;
• Salisbury, all five council members, including the mayor;
• Spencer, the mayor and all six aldermen.
