3 in Spencer face drug charges

Three people face drug charges following a joint investigation by local law enforcement agencies.
On Wednesday, based on information received from the public, members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team and Spencer Police Department, along with the help of the Special Investigative Unit of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, served a drug search warrant at 605 Fifth St, Spencer.
After securing the occupants, officer searched the home. Items found during the search were 30 grams of marijuana, scales and an assortment of drug paraphernalia.
The residents of the home were arrested and charged as follows:
• Willie J Hooker, of 605 Fifth St., possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule VI substance; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was $25,000.
• Robin Yvette Young, also of 605 Fifth St., possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule VI substance; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; resist, obstruct and delay an officer; bond, $25,000.
• Shorod Lamar Young, also of 605 Fifth St. ,
possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule VI substance; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; bond, $25,000.
All the defendants were placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with their first appearance set for Friday. This brings an end to an ongoing drug complaint in this neighborhood.
