Man on bike struck by car

SALISBURY — A man in his 50s was struck by a car around 5:45 p.m. today at 906 S. Main St. in Salisbury.
The man was conscious, alert and talking with EMS workers just after 6 p.m. on the way to the hospital.
A nearby business owner who witnessed the accident said the man was riding a bicycle when he crossed in front of a white Saturn passenger car.
According to emergency communications, the man hit the windshield with his back and was thrown into the air. The windshield cracked in a spider web pattern on the passenger side.
