SALISBURY – A house fire off U.S. 70 reported this afternoon has been extinguished.
An emergency call came in at 1:13 p.m. reporting that the side of a house at 427 Willow Road was on fire. The blaze was under control about a half an hour later.
Salisbury Fire Department officials said the inside frame around a window near the fireplace was damaged, but the fire did not reach to the second story or to other rooms. The full extent of the damage is not known.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home was occupied at the time, but no one was hurt.
