Sunday, June 12 is Summer Camp Send-Off Sunday at Resurrection Life Church. At the 10 a.m. service there will be a time of prayer and commissioning for the workers, teens and campers attending Ambassador Camp this summer.
Evangelical-based Ambassador Camp has been in ministry since 1957 in Lake Waccamaw, N.C. A special offering will be received Sunday for campers who need financial assistance.

Love Christian Center

COOLEEMEE ó Pastor appreciation services for the Rev. Hannah and first lady Daisy Hannah begin today, June 11, from 6-8:30 p.m. with a program featuring a message, food and fun.
Sunday morningís guest speaker will be Dr. Moses V. Goldman, interim director of the Institute for Health, Social and Community Research and assistant professor of Divinity at Shaw University, Raleigh.
Lunch will be served at 2 p.m., and at the 3 p.m. service, the Rev. Ervin Baker of Friendship Baptist Church of Cooleemee will speak.
UMC fundraiser
WOODLEAF ó Woodleaf United Methodist Church hosts an antique tractor pull today, June 11, at 4 p.m. to benefit the Woodleaf UMC building fund.
Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, desserts and drinks available.

CHINA GROVE ó On Sunday, June 12, Concordia Lutheran Church will provide a ěBlessing of the Graduates.î
During 11 a.m. worship the congregation will recognize 10 high school and three college graduates and offer prayers of guidance.
Pentecost Sunday will also be celebrated that day at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services with Holy Communion and the continuation of the series on St. Paulís letter to the Romans.

Combined service
Franklin Presbyterian Church and John Calvin Presbyterian Church offer a combined Pentecost Sunday worship service with communion at Dan Nicholas Park on June 12 at 11 a.m. at the Stanback Outdoor Theater.
The Rev. Dr. Samuel Dansokho, associate professor of Religion, Society and Culture at Hood Theological Seminary, will preach. Dansokho, born in Senegal, West Africa, is an ordained Presbyterian minister and a member of Salem Presbytery.
The worship service will be led by the Rev. Larry Summey of Franklin and the Rev. Kellie Browne of John Calvin. Michael Brooks, director of music at John Calvin, will lead the music.
Immediately following the service, there will be a covered dish lunch at picnic shelter 4.
New Gilead Church
CONCORD ó Liz Hood will sing at New Gilead Church on Sunday, June 12 at the 11 a.m. service. Hood is a mezzo-soprano who has given musical presentations in four countries and served eight times in Mexico as a short term missionary teaching music and serving as a medical translator.

Pastor Appreciation day for the Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Tyson is Sunday, June 12 at the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Daren Jaime of the Peopleís AME Zion Church in Syracuse, NY will be the guest speaker.
St. Johnís Lutheran
Organist Donald Grice will be in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in the sanctuary of St. Johnís Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St. Grice will present a concert of selections by composers including Bach, Buxtehude, Haydn, Franck, Vierne, Howells and Beard. He serves as assistant organist/choirmaster at St. Paulís Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem.
The event is free and a reception follows. The concert is made possible by a gift from Dr. Dale Higbee, director of Carolina Baroque.
New Hope AME Zion
New Hope AME Zion Church, 1470 N. Long St. Extension, the Rev. Kirk A. Reid, pastor, will celebrate Menís Day on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Nilous Avery II, pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Salisbury. The menís chorus of Mt. Zion, Dixie Dalton, musician and Deborah Johnson, director; and the menís community choir, Phyllis Partee, musician and Melvin Rush, I, director, will provide the music.
Avery is a native of holds a bachelor of arts degree from Shaw University, Raleigh, and master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Hood Theological Seminary.
Program postponed
ROCKWELL ó The Menís Program for Godís Tabernacle for Believers has been cancelled for Sunday June 12, at 3:30 p.m. The program has been re-scheduled for Sunday June 26 at 3:30 p.m. Godís Tabernacle for Believers is located at 304 W. Main St., Rockwell.
Union Lutheran
Union Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, celebrates Pentecost on Sunday, June 12 with Holy Communion, as well as the 60th anniversary of the Rev. T.C. Plexicoís ordination.
The celebration drop-in reception in the fellowship hall is from 3-5 p.m.
Currently serving as interim pastor since February, Plexico first served Union Church from 1951-1953. He has held leadership positions in the N.C. Lutheran Synod, the American Red Cross, the United Way, served as district governor of Rotary International and was recipient of the John Benjamin Bedenbaugh Award for Distinguished Pastoral Leadership in the Church-at-large.
He has been a contributor to the Salisbury Post and a religious news announcer for WSAT radio.
