SALISBURY — A 34-year-old woman was flown to the hospital with head injuries following a collision with a vehicle Wednesday afternoon. Sabrina Green of Salisbury was
driving a moped on Mooresville Road around 3:30 p.m. when a vehicle crossed over Sunset Street to Lincolnton Road and struck the moped. The woman was thrown from the moped.
The name of the driver was not immediately available.
The vehicle’s driver told a Salisbury Police officer there were two mopeds and he saw one, but not the other, said Master Police Officer Brad Jordan.
Jordan said the woman was wearing a novelty type helmet – not a DOT approved helmet.
She was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The other moped driver, a male, was not injured.
