SALISBURY — A Salisbury couple were arrested Saturday for drug possession after officials responded to a report of child abuse at a Dunnsview Drive home.
Rowan County Sheriff’s detectives arrived around 10:30 a.m. at 250 Dunnsview Drive to assist in an investigation of a 2-year-old child being left unattended.
The officers asked for permission to search the home and discovered a glass container that contained pills and a marijuana pipe.
Alexander Troy Goodman, 25, who lived at the home, and Brittany Jones Goodman, 21, of 1245 Steven Drive, Salisbury, were each charged with child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Brittany Goodman was also charged Sunday with violating a domestic violence protective order for a separate incident.
The next day, deputies went to Brittany Goodman’s home to serve a warrant. A Kimberly Goodman told them she was not there, but gave them permission to look around.
Officers found in plain view a smoking pipe, a marijuana grinder and a plastic straw with powder residue on it.
Jonathan Andrew Goodman, 23, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
“He told deputies the items were his,” Lt. Terry Agner said.
Alexander Goodman remains in the Rowan County jail.
