Confederate war dead honored
The Cabarrus Guards Camp 1837 Sons of Confederate Veterans and The Coltrane-Harris Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy will present a Confederate Memorial Day celebration at 3 p.m. next Sunday
The event will honor the 125,000 troops that North Carolina provided during the Civil War. It begins with period music by Stan Clardy of Statesville at 2:30 p.m. All will take place at the Old Cabarrus County Courthouse, 65 Union St. S., Concord.
Participants are asked to bring flowers to place at the monument.
