SPENCER ó Spencer leaders will consider allowing pawn shops in the Highway Business District, but not downtown.
The Spencer Planning Board will hold a courtesy hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall. The Board of Aldermen will receive public comment at 7 p.m. June 14.
Officials are considering an ordinance amendment that would add pawn shops to the list of permitted uses in the Highway Business District.
Aldermen last month directed the Planning Board to remove pawn shops from consideration for the downtown business district.
