Cabarrus voters endorsing sales tax

CONCORD — Cabarrus County voters have approved a quarter-cent sales tax to help fund education.
With all 46 precincts reporting, unofficial results show the sales tax passing by 59.6 percent, with 2,261 votes.
There were 1,530 votes against the measure, or 40.4 percent.
Voter turnout was low, with 3.5 percent of registered voters went to the polls.
