SALISBURY — A 16-year-old was charged with assault on a child after police say she approached a girl at Lincoln Park in Salisbury, got into an argument with her, and hit her in the face and wrist, also hitting the victim’s 2-year-old child.
Tilesha Lacree Lee, of China Grove, turned herself in to authorities Wednesday on charges of assault on a child and simple assault. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
Police said the victim, Ganine Leach, 22, was playing in the park with her child April 25 when Lee came up to her and said she wanted to fight.
The report said Leach picked up her child and tried to leave, but Lee struck her in the face and wrist, also striking her child.
Lee’s first appearance in court is May 23.
