Grant for Cannon School gym
CONCORD ó Cannon School has received a $74,049 grant from the Cannon Foundation to fund the installation of new flooring in one of the schoolís gyms. The grant is an investment in Cannonís commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for students using the gym.
The new flooring, to be installed over the summer, will replace the current blue rubberized flooring that was installed several years ago.
Over the years, the physical education and extracurricular activities of students have made new flooring essential to the usability of this area. The new flooring will enable the school to use the gym for a full range of healthy activities for Cannon students, including physical education.
The enhanced gym will also house competition hosted by Cannon School, including Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) and North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) tournaments, and provide greater flexibility and usage for interscholastic events, practices, camps and school-wide activities.
