Better Badin has won an award from Keep NC Beautiful (www.keepncbeautiful. org) in the 12th annual Litter Prevention Awards program.
Cash awards of $500 were issued to organizations that developed innovative programs and measureable results in litter prevention, recycling and beautification in 2010.
Better Badin Inc. won for picking up litter on 11 miles of Badin on a routine basis.
“I hope this award will not only inspire other groups to clean up our beautiful state, but, more importantly, to educate our citizens, especially the youth, about litter prevention,” said Bill Harwood, Better Badin.
This award program is supported by Keep NC Beautiful and the North Carolina Beverage Association.
