KANNAPOLIS — Police say a Kannapolis man being held under $100,000 bond in the Rowan County jail trafficked cocaine through the streets of Kannapolis.
Jonathan Eugene Maddox, 45, of 7905 Grand Canyon Road, was charged Friday with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to sell and deliver cocaine and resist, obstruct and delay of an officer.
Maddox’s arrest follows an ongoing investigation by the Kannapolis Police Vice and Narcotics Unit, and officers knew Maddox would be bringing a “sizable” amount of cocaine through Kannapolis Friday, a press release said.
Maddox was stopped around 2 p.m. in the 900 block of North Ridge Avenue, and officers found about 30 grams of cocaine that had been “discreetly concealed,” the release said.
Related warrants were issued for Molly O’Brien McDeson, of 749 Allister Drive, Charlotte, and Rebecca Lynne Swan, of Bailey Road, Cornelius on charges of conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine.
Police said the two women were “associated with” Maddox “when the initial contact took place with law enforcement.”
