A single-vehicle accident stopped traffic on I-85 about a quarter mile from Dale Earnhardt Boulevard for more than an hour this afternoon after a four-door red sedan flipped over.
Driver, Hector Curiel, of Salisbury, 18, and his brother, Enrique Curiel, 23, were traveling south on I-85 in the right-hand lane and tried to move into the left lane, but a car was in Hector Curiel’s blind spot. When he realized there was a car there he jerked the wheel, overcorrected, and ran down an embankment, up a hill, hit a tree and flipping his car over, landing back on the tires.
Hector and Enrique Curiel are being treated at NorthEast Medical Center for injuries that are not life threatening, a trooper with the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
