A 19-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident when his car ran off Irish Potato Road and hit a utility pole Friday. Brandon Talbert of Kannapolis was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was pronounced dead.
Highway Patrol Trooper E.K. Wooten said Talbert wasnít wearing his seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. There were no passengers in the car.
Wooten said there were no indications of alcohol being involved and officials will await a toxicology report before concluding the investigation.
Wooten said Talbert ran off the right side of the road about 3:30 p.m. and his vehicle flipped once at 5650 Irish Potato Road near Sapp Road in Cabarrus County.
